Angelina’s, an urban café/ bar, evokes those seen in Italian Neo-Realist films of the 1940’s, where a minimal esthetic complements nearby nature. The architecture is elemental, overscaled and mimics the flavor of a seaside pier at a nighttime resort. The monolithic, square bar features a smoky concrete countertop and sandstone tile face, like a rocky Mediterranean island in a quadrate sea of wood stained blue. Connected to a retail space through a rusticated brick portal, Angelina’s atmosphere exudes seductive chic and nuance.
